A Weber Test
This is a test for conduction vs sensorineural hearing loss.
Conduction loss is due to wax buildup or infection for example.
Sensorineural loss is due to Meniere’s Disease, Acoustic Neuroma for example.
For example, if a patient cannot hear well on the RIGHT due to a clogged ear, then the tuning fork will sound louder on the RIGHT.
If the patient cannot hear from Meniere’s disease on the RIGHT, then the tuning fork will sound loud on the LEFT
